Colombia in Peace with the advice of the ‘Federación de Paneleros de Colombia’, Fedepanela, is venturing into the production of this product to export to North American and European scenarios. This, in order to guarantee sustainable markets that allow production volumes that favor farmers of the departments of Cundinamarca and Tolima. To this end, it has developed the international brand COLFARMER, whose initial objective is to commercialize powdered panela as a 100% natural sweetener in the form of a healthy alternative food.
As part of this initiative, the Colombia in Peace team sponsors and participates in prestigious international events such as Colombia 2040 and Spring Meeting 2018. “Colombia 2040” was the fifth edition of the Colombian conference at Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology organized by the Colombian Student Society from each university. The conference took place on April 27 and 28 of 2018. The objective was to present a vision of the country to be built given the social, economic, environmental and technological challenges. These, based on the the tools that are available to the civil society, the Colombian State and the private sector.
Furthermore, the Spring Meeting 2018 brought together authorities of central banks, finance and development ministers, executives of the private sector, representatives of civil society organizations, and members of academic circles. It discussed issues that generate concern around the world , such as the global economic outlook, the end of poverty, economic development, and the effectiveness of aid. This meeting was held in Washington DC between April 16 and 22 of 2018.
